Which international schools are there in Tbilisi?

The table lists the main English-language and foreign-curriculum schools in and around Tbilisi, from the schools' own websites where possible, checked on 22 October 2026. Districts come from our check of each address against OpenStreetMap boundaries. Fees appear only where the school publishes them itself.

Map of the school clusters

The schools form three clusters and a few outliers: Lisi Lake in the north-west, Bagebi and the Tskneti highway in the south-west hills, and the Vake-Saburtalo core near Delisi metro and Vake Park, with QSI far to the north in Zurgovani and a European School campus on the Kojori road.

Note that addresses on Leo Kvachadze Street sit on the boundary between Saburtalo and Vake: our boundary test puts them in Saburtalo, while OpenStreetMap's address search labels them Vake. The European School's main buildings are in Vake district, not Saburtalo as some directories say.

What do the schools cost?

Only three of the schools we checked publish fees on their own websites:

  • German International School: tuition of GEL 10,805 a year for kindergarten rising to GEL 20,655 for grades 11 and 12 in 2026-27, or GEL 13,855 to 23,715 with meals, plus a one-off admission fee of GEL 1,840 and 10% off for siblings.
  • American Academy: for 2026-27, a year in grade 8 costs GEL 19,500 and each later year up to grade 12 costs GEL 31,000, with a refundable deposit of GEL 600.
  • Newton Free School: EUR 4,500 to 6,500 a year in 2025-26, payable in lari, after deduction of the state school voucher.

The others, including QSI, the British school, New School, the European School and Buckswood, ask families to contact admissions. Ask each school for the full annual cost, including registration, bus, meals, uniforms and exam fees, and for its policy on sibling discounts and refunds. Several schools admit on a rolling basis when places are free, and the European School keeps waiting lists once classes fill.

Living near the Lisi Lake schools

Three schools stand within a few hundred metres of each other on Leo Kvachadze Street, at the eastern end of the Lisi Lake recreation area. A three-room flat in the ss.ge "Lisi Lake" area had a median asking price of USD 159,000 for 92 m² on 22 October 2026, and three-room rents a median of USD 1,000 a month in 54 ads. Houses in the area asked a median USD 310,000 for about 350 m² and rented for about USD 2,350. Single ads right on Leo Kvachadze Street asked more than the area median. The nearest metro is 1.4 to 2.2 km away, and buses 329, 363, 389, 505 and 107 serve the area. See our Lisi Lake guide.

Living near the Bagebi and Tskneti schools

Both New School and the German school stand along the Tskneti highway as it climbs through Bagebi, about 1.5 to 2.2 km from Vake Park. In Bagebi a three-room flat had a median asking price of USD 215,000 for 100 m² and a median rent of USD 1,000 a month, and houses asked a median USD 850,000 for about 450 m². Higher up, in Tskneti near Buckswood, three-room flats asked about USD 160,000 and rented for about USD 700 in small samples, while houses asked a median USD 700,000. Buses 354 and 334 pass both schools on the highway, and the Bagebi-University ropeway, included in the GEL 1 ticket, links Bagebi with the State University metro side. See our guides to Bagebi and Tskneti.

Living near the Vake-Saburtalo schools

The European School's main buildings are about 0.4 km from Delisi metro, the French School is beside Vake Park, and Newton is on the Nutsubidze side, about 0.9 km from State University station. This is the most expensive cluster: a three-room flat in Vake had a median asking price of USD 300,000 for 104 m² and rented for a median USD 1,300 a month. In Saburtalo the medians were USD 170,500 to buy and USD 1,000 to rent, and on the Nutsubidze Plateau USD 135,000 to buy. This is also the only cluster where most families can reach school without a car.

Living near QSI in Zurgovani

QSI is the farthest city school from the centre, about 12.6 km from Freedom Square in a straight line, north of Didi Dighomi. It is also next to the cheapest family housing on this page: three-room flats in Didi Dighomi had a median asking price of USD 100,000 and rented for about USD 700 a month, and houses in Dighomi village and Didi Dighomi asked a median USD 310,000 to 347,500. QSI says its door-to-door bus covers most of the city and the Dighomi area. The metro is about 3.7 km away; a tram from Didi Dighomi to Didube metro was contracted in September 2026.

Living near the Kojori road campus

The European School has a campus on the Kojori road in the hills above Old Tbilisi, and in February 2026 it announced a Tsavkisi campus for younger classes from 2026-27, most likely on the same road. There are almost no flats here: ss.ge returned no priced three-room flats for sale in Tsavkisi or Shindisi. Family housing means a house. Houses asked a median USD 520,000 in Tsavkisi, USD 477,500 in Shindisi and USD 365,000 in Tabakhmela, and rented for about USD 1,900 to 3,200 a month. Buses 324 and 380 run up the road from near Freedom Square about every 40 minutes. When buying a hill plot, check its land category and functional zone, as some plots are agricultural or in recreational zones.

All figures are ss.ge asking prices from 21 and 22 October 2026, our medians. Measured as rent against price, a three-room flat yields about 5.2% gross in Vake and 7.5% at Lisi Lake. What about the new European school at Lisi Lake?

An EU-funded Eastern Partnership European School campus at Lisi Lake was due to open in September 2024. We could not confirm that it has opened, so it is not on our map. Ask the EU delegation or the school directly before planning around it.
